What you need to know about recalls

Added: 16 August 2019

The global Airbag Inflator Recall affects a number of automative manufacturers and poses a safety risk. Honda has started to recall some models to replace the airbags, you will receive an initial letter from Honda to make you aware your car needs its airbag changed. A second letter will then be sent to call you forward to visit Rowes ti have it replaced (please be aware the recalls are being staggered to allow for workshop time and the parts to be delivered to all dealerships).

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Please check to see if your vehicle is affected. if it is, please contact us to have the necessary components replaced free of charge. You can check if your car needs it's airbag replaced here: www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/recalls-and-updates.html

WHAT IF YOU DON'T GET THE AIRBAG REPLACED

In the event of an impact where the airbag is deployed, the inflator part of the airbag may ignite in such a manner that it creates excessive internal pressure. As a result the metal inflator casing may rupture, causing metal fragmanets to be propelled through the airbag and into the vehicle.

WHAT ROWES HONDA WILL DO

Once your vehicle is received at the dealership, it will have a modified inflator instaled into the airbag module. The work will take approximately 1 hour to complete and will be carried out free of charge.
